Savory Pumpkin Hummus with Olive Oil & Za’atar

Creamy, cozy, and packed with autumn flavors, this Savory Pumpkin Hummus is a seasonal twist on the classic dip. The natural sweetness of pumpkin blends seamlessly with nutty tahini, warm spices, and roasted garlic, while Terra Delyssa Extra Virgin Olive Oil adds a velvety richness. Finished with a drizzle of olive oil, a sprinkle of za’atar, and crunchy pumpkin seeds, this hummus is as beautiful as it is delicious.

Perfect for entertaining, snacking, or as a festive appetizer, it pairs wonderfully with warm pita bread, crackers, or fresh vegetables.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained, rinsed, and skins removed
  • 1 cup pumpkin purée
  • ¼ cup tahini
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice (about 1 medium lemon)
  • 2 cloves roasted or sautéed garlic
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp kosher salt, or to taste
  • ¼ cup Terra Delyssa Extra Virgin Olive Oil (for blending), plus more for finishing
  • Toasted pumpkin seeds, for garnish
  • Micro arugula, for garnish
  • Black sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Warm pita bread or crackers, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Add chickpeas, pumpkin purée, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and ¼ cup Terra Delyssa olive oil to a food processor. Blend until completely smooth, letting it run 3–4 minutes. Add 1–2 tablespoons of water if needed to thin.
  2. Taste and adjust seasoning with additional salt or lemon juice if desired
  3. Spread hummus in a shallow bowl and use the back of a spoon to create swirls. Drizzle generously with Terra Delyssa olive oil.
  4. Garnish with toasted pumpkin seeds, micro arugula, black sesame seeds, and an extra sprinkle of smoked paprika.
  5. Serve with warm pita bread, crackers, or fresh vegetables.
