Grilled Burgers

There's no better way to celebrate the 4th of July (or your summer weekends) than with a classic burger. But let’s add in some healthier ingredients and make it even more delicious by using our all-natural, mild flavor extra virgin olive oil!

4 Tablespoons Terra Delyssa® Extra Virgin Olive Oil, divided

1 cup White Onion, diced

1/2 cup Mayonnaise

1/4 cup Ketchup

1 lb Lean Ground Beef

1 teaspoon Salt

1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper

4 Slices Cheese

2 Brioche Burger Buns, lightly toasted

1 Tomato, sliced

4 Lettuce Leaves



  1. Heat a large skillet on medium-high then add about 2 Tablespoons of Terra Delyssa® Extra Virgin Olive Oil and the diced onion. Season with a bit of salt and black pepper then caramelize until browned, about 20 minutes.
  2. To make the burger sauce, combine mayonnaise, ketchup and the caramelized onion in a bowl. Set aside.
  3. Season the burger patties on both sides with salt and black pepper. Using an outdoor grill or a grill pan, grill the burger patties on medium-high heat with Terra Delyssa® Extra Virgin Olive Oil until it reaches desired doneness. Top each burger patty with 2 slices of cheese and allow to melt.
  4. Build the burger by adding burger sauce to the bottom bun, followed by lettuce, the grilled burger patty with the melted cheese, tomato, more lettuce if desired and the top bun. Serve immediately.
